IMPHAL, Oct 22: A devastating fire this early morning gutted 11 shops around 8am along the Teddim Road at Kwakeithel Ningthemkhol. Sources said the fire erupted from a Chicken Centre and spread to the other shops devastating property worth around Rs 24 lakhs.
Five fire tenders of the fire service were pressed into dousing the fire.
The whole plot having 11 different shops including the chicken centre belongs to one Takhellambam Shantikumar of Kwakeithel Mayai Koibi.
Shantikumar had claimed to the fire tenders that property worth around Rs 24 lakhs was destroyed by the fire.
The 11 shops include a photo studio, a paper stationary, a workshop, two meat centres, one iron scrap dealer, a saloon, mobile phone shop, rice hotel.
However there has been no report of any human casualty during the fire.
