IMPHAL, Oct 14: Discovering the presence of UG cadres in Sekmajin Khunou of Thoubal district, troops of 27 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector under HQ IGAR(S) launched an operation in the area and apprehended one UNLF cadre on October 14, said a PRO IGAR (S) release.
The statement has identified the apprehendee as No.1912 s/s pvt Nongmaithem Amarjit alias Tignupham, 26, son of (L) N Abir, resident of Kumbai Makha Leikai, Kakching.
One 9 mm Pistol with one live round was recovered from the apprehendee who alongwith recovery was handed over to Kakching Police station, it said.
