IMPHAL, October 9: WAD condemns the death of Miss Wangkhem Dolly, an 18 year old PLHIV victim girl of Wangkhei Koijam Leikai, who has been on ART Treatment.
A release by Sobita Mangsatabam states that due to the negligence of the State AIDS Clinical Expert Panel (SACEP) in providing her the Second Line ART drugs,even despite the recommendations by the NCPCR to provide all the necessary medical needs to the girl.
It states that, such a negligence by state experts concerns the State and is a disgrace and violation of Child Rights Protection as well as discrimination of People Living with HIV (PLHIVs). WAD strongly condemned the ignorance of NCPCR directives by the SACEP agency.
Henceforth, WAD appeals to all the concerned authorities to take serious note into this matter and take necessary actions in order to prevent such act of negligence that claims innocent lives in future and for the well being of the People Living with HIVs. WAD shares the pains and sorrows with the bereaved family of Miss Wangkhem Dolly.
