IMPHAL, Nov 24: District Magistrate of Imphal East has enforced CrPC 144 in areas under Imphal East district from 18 Nov to 17 Dec, 2012 which prohibits assembly of five or more in any part of the district.
The prohibition order was issued to maintain peace, public tranquillity and to prevent possible danger that can cause grave dangers to human lives and properties.
The statement further prohibits the possession of sticks, stones, firearms and weapons that comes under the category of offensive weapon. It further maintained that any persons or organisation that was to take out procession, really, public meeting should apply to the district magistrate ahead for permission.
