IMPHAL, November 17: With several explosive issues confronting the state at the moment including the demands for a separate Kuki state and the looming Indo-Naga settlement which is expected by most people of the state to affect the state interest, CPI Manipur State Council leader Dr M Nara has called for a collective effort to bring peace and development in the state.

Calling upon all sections of the society, communities residing in the state to set aside all differences and conflicting interests; Nara has called for a solution which could be amicable for all stakeholders and for the state of Manipur.

Speaking to certain woman journalists of the state at Singjamei residence, he said the present situation where every community is fighting for their own good is a natural process.

He however opined that any solution would not be feasible unless it is amicable and in the interest of the whole state.

Expressing his concern for the future of the state, the former Minister expressed the need of a “collective wisdom to resolve the crisis”.

He informed that the centre has asked for around 500 state police personnel for the upcoming Gujarat election and said that it would be unviable at the moment when the state has its own issue to confront at the moment. The centre should have instead asked the neighbouring states of Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, etc, he said.
