First Zomi language and literature seminar held

IMPHAL, November 22: The first national seminar-cum-workshop on development of Zomi languages and literature was concluded today at Lamka college auditorium, New Lamka CCPur. 

The program was organized by the Zomi language and literature society in collaboration with the Centre Institute of Indian language (CIIL) under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Mysore.

The function was grace by Parliament Secretary, Vungzagin Valte as the chief guest and a hose of imminent person also attended the seminar including the adviser of the ZRO Mr. K Guite who was also the adviser of the organizing committee.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest lauded the initiative taken by the organizer and he also expressed the hope that through this effort, the zomi will have a common platform which will hopefully bring about a common language so that unity will be prevail through it.

Deputy Director of CIIL, Professor Kedutso Kapfo also dwelt on the development of language and regional language`s grammar in line with  English so that the language  of the zomi will be compact. Some of the speakers also spoke on the topic like comparative analysis of different zomi languages with English and slight variation within the zomi languages.
