IMPHAL, November 6: A one day health camp for farmers was held today at Pungdongbam village, Imphal east.
The day was organized by the Rural Agricultural Work Experience team of the Central Agricultural College.
Speaking during the camp, CAU Dean, Dr N Iboton said that the Rural Agricultural Work Experience is an assignment of the CAU where students of the university stay at a rural area for more than three months and experience the agricultural activities of a particular village.
He continued that CAU Vice Chancellor, SN Puri had visited one of such teams at the Pungdongbam village and during his trip found that there was no health facility in the area and as such decided to organised the camp.
Around 1000 farmers benefitted from today’s health camp. Free medicines were also distributed during the camp which was attended by three doctors and 35 students of the university.
