IMPHAL, November 6: A consultative meeting on ‘Hydrocarbon exploration in Manipur’ was held today at Tamenglong. The meeting resolved to oppose against the proposed oil exploration in Manipur by Jubilant company.
The meeting was organized by The Committee on the Protection of Natural Resources in Manipur, a conglomerate of different likeminded civil organizations.
The keynote address at the meeting was given by Panmei Tingenlung, convenor of the committee and panel members of the meet were President of the Naga Women Union: Aram Panmei, ATSUM Speaker: Majabung Gangmei and convener of the Committee Jiten Yumnam.
