Ukhrul, Nov 20 (NNN): In a seeming response to the movement of the Kuki State Demand Committe (KSDC), the Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) has said that every community big or small has a traditional boundary which should be respected and reciprocated in turn.
The Tangkhul Naga Long, however did not mention the KSDC in its communique.

On Tuesday, after having held a meeting in Ukhrul, the apex body of the Tangkhul community said that the land of the Nagas is bounded by definite geographical boundaries. The people are governed by a set of laws based on  handed down tradition, culture, customary and usages under time honoured institutions. Land and Nagas are inseparable. They cannot be compromised under any circumstances, as told, the TNL stated.

The TNL then said a nation big or small, community or village has a traditional boundary. “We share traditional boundaries with others. They are not the gift of man or kings but God to the Nagas. Wherein is the ancestral homeland of the Nagas. It is the very obligation of every Nagas to defend and protect them. There is no khasland in the land of the Nagas” the Tangkhul apex body added.

“We may live together  with each other by respecting the history of the land. We respect others` history and  also wished the same from others. To live in peace, one  should respect others` history,” the apex Tangkhul body said.

The Nagas in Manipur  are demanding `alternative arrangement` to the Government of India outside the Government of Manipur, pending Indo Naga final settlement and all should support  the pending settlement for the early solution for national/regional peace and harmony and the generations to come, the Tangkhul Naga Long stated.
