IMPHAL, November 22: The state Tourism Department today called a press conference at the festival venue this afternoon on several issues including clarification of the non-completion of stalls construction even after the festival has commenced.
Speaking to media persons, Tourism Commissioner Rajesh Kumar said the construction of the stalls are done by the Commerce and Industries department and above that except for some three to four percent, the construction of stalls have been completed.
Further on the UNC statement that Nagas should stay away from the festival, he said, the UNC issue is a political one.
He continued, there have been several Naga visitors even on the first day of the festival, which indicates that the Nagas will continue to participate and visit the festival.
He continued that DCs of all nine districts will attend the festival.
Due to certain misunderstandings between the organizers and the areas announced as parking lots for the festival, two of the four announced parking lots are yet to be opened, said the Tourism Director, Hrishikesh Modak.
He however added that the misunderstanding will be resolved soon and the said parkings will be opened by tomorrow morning.
On the preparation for the main venue of the festival, the Commissioner said fire service, medical facilities are all in place for any eventualities, he said.

Meanwhile, Shija Hospitals and Research Institute, Business Manager, T Premkumar told a select group of media persons that from November 23 to 29, the hospital stall will provide free medical consultations including dental consultations.
