Ukhrul bandh over girl`s death

    UKHRUL, Nov.08: The Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long, TMNL, Tangkhul Youth Council, had imposed an hour long closure of Ukhrul town shops from 1 pm in protest against the Government, following the death of a school girl due to lack of medical facilities and doctors in the town’s only hospital.

    Maintaining that the 50-bedded district hospital needs more specialist doctors, better infrastructure and equipments, the President, TMNL, said that, “Due to the result of which bad condition and non-availability of the specialist doctors and medical equipments, 16 year old, Ikrorphi Shimrah d/o Ngaranmi Shimra of Peh Village who was a studying in class X in KTL ExcelSchool, Ukhrul ,succumbed to her kidney failure case on the way to Imphal last night.”

    According to a source from the TMNL,the school girl was admitted to District Hospital on the last Saturday but she was not treated as per her case of sickness.The source further disclosed that she was later referred to Imphal but the girl died on the way to Imphal for her treatment.
