IMPHAL, December 24: The anger of bandh supporters erupted after the death of a media person during his duty while covering public protests and against the calling off of the bandh by the Film forum Manipur.
Angry protesters stormed the house of Film Forum Manipur President Laimayum Surjakanta Sharma today early morning and partly destroyed it. Police rushing in to the spot fired several rounds of tear gas shells and rubber bullets to disperse the mob. People also came out on the streets in the area of ABC godown in Thangmeiband and pelted stones against the police which led to firing of several rounds of tear gas shells and mock bombs.
Meanwhile, three bandh supporters were picked up the by the state police personnel from Kangjabi area.
In another incident, one passenger bus was destroyed today by bandh supporters at Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai. The bus was proceeding towards Tarung under Lamphel police station.
