IMPHAL, Dec 29: Troops of 46 Assam Rifle of 27 Sector Assam Rifle under red Shield Division apprehended one arms and drugs peddler on 28 Dec 2012. Based on specific intillegence received from sources, a search operation was launched which led to apprehension of the arms dealer from village Hmar Veng in Churanchandpur district. The apprehended individual has been identified as Zamkhomang Haokip @ Mamang, 40, son of Chunghao Haokip, resident of Teijang of Churachandpur district. One nine mm pistol (country made) along with magazine and live rounds were recovered from his possessions at the time of apprehension. The apprehended along with recoveries was later handed over to Imphal West police satation said a press released from PIB.
