IMPHAL, December 29: The 3rd Shaheed Manoranjan Singh Memorial football tournament concluded today. The football tournament was started from 17 November with 16 different teams participating. Organized by the group centre Central Reserve Police Force, Langjing the tournament was held at Langjing Ahchouba football ground Langjing.
Vimal kumar Bisht, DIGP CRPF as Chief Guest witnessed the final match between CFC Chajing and AYDC Achambingei in which the former ended scoring 3 goals to nil. The scoring account of CFC was opened by jersey number (5) Santosh in the 57th minute of the second half followed by jersey number (16) Deban who added another goal in the 77th minute. The last goal of the final match was also scored by the jersey number (5) Santosh in 80th minute. The winning team of the tournament, CFC chajing was rewarded with 40 thousand rupees and a running trophy, Runner up team AYDC Achambingei got 25 thousand rupee and a running trophy.
The best goal keeper of the tournament was awarded to Raj singh of AYDC Achambingei, best player to Chandramani of CFC Chajing and the highest goal scorer of the tournament was awarded jointly to Naoton of CFC chajing and Johnson PMLS with both the players on a score of 5 goals during the tournament. It may be mentioned that the tournament was organized by the CRPF in the memory of late Shaheed Manoranjan who had lost his while on duty. Today`s match was also witnessed by the mother of the late Manoranjan and other family members, CRPF officers and locasl of the area.
