IMPHAL, Dec 24: The Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Manish Tewari has condoled the death Dwijamani, a stringer camera man of DDK Imphal, who was killed in police firing in Imphal today, while covering the bandh organized in protest against the molestation of an actress yesterday. Shri Tewari has said that Shri Mani was a very brave journalist and a true professional who covered many difficult assignments.
Meanwhile, the Manipur Baptist Convention Centre Church expressed deep sorrow at the passing away of Thangjam Dwijamand alias Nanao, former correspondent Prime News, Guwahati and presently a stringer camera man of DDK Imphal associated with the events of the Church. “He was a dedicated journalist, a very gentle and warm hearted person whom we all considered a brother and friend. We are with his family in this moment of grief and pain and we pray that the Almighty God will grand them peace and comfort.”
Furhter, Parliamentary Secretary, Information & Public Relation, K Meghachandra Singh has expressed his profound grief and sorrow over the tragic and untimely demise of Thangjam Dwijamani @ Nanao son of (L) Th Babu Singh of Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai, Imphal who was a Stringer of DDK, Guwahati and formerly Cameraman of Guwahati-based Prime News Channel. “His sudden death is deeply mourned by me and the Directorate of Information & Public Relations, Manipur. His loss will always be felt by everyone who knew him and particularly among the journalistic circles. We also share the pangs and agony of his loss with the bereaved family. May his departed soul rest in peace in His Abode.”
