IMPHAL, Dec 10: Family of Thounaojam (o) Thoithoi (18) has alleged her husband’s family hand in her death. Thoithoi was found hanged in her room on December 8, 2012.

Speaking to media persons in a press meet held at Manipur Press Club today, Ganga, mother of Thoithoi said they were informed of the news of her daughter’s death by the locals and not by her husband’s family at around 11:30am of December 8, 2012.

After receiving the sad news she along with her son Y Athouba (22) went to her daughter’s house and found no one in the house.

The dead body of her daughter was hanging just 2/3 inches above the ground from her feet, she said.

Moreover, two loin clothes were tied together to form a rope which was found tied loosely around her neck, she complained.

Police was reported by the woman’s family, she added.

Meanwhile Athouba, said another hanging rope made of khudei, her sister’s earing, bicycle chain and a fanek (local wraparound) with stools and urine were also found lying inside her room the same day.

The death body was wrapped in an unusual manner by a fanek which was tied on her back, he continued.

He further said all these evidences clearly indicate that his sister was murdered.

After the post mortem it was found out that there were two swellings on her head, one at the back side and another near the ear. Blood too flowed out from her eyes and mouth, he continued.

Ganga appealed the concerned authority to punish the culprits who are responsible for her daughter’s alleged murder immediately.
