IMPHAL, December 7: A toy bomb made of rubber resembling a Chinese hand grenade was found hanging at the door of the office of Superintendent of Taxation Department located near the entrance of the 2nd Battalion Manipur Rifles under Imphal Police Station.
The faux bomb was removed by bomb experts of the police.
The incident occurred at 11:45am today.
Speaking to IFP, Superintendent of the department Wahengbam Lokendrajit said he was working in his office room today as usual.
However he had to go out of his office for a brief moment and on returning found the bomb like object hanging by his door, he added.
Citing that he has not received any threats or monetary demands from any underground groups, the Superintendent said that the bomb could have been placed by his door since his office lie in the inner most corner of the building.
