IMPHAL, Dec 4: It’s like the Councillors who were elected in May 2010 being kept in a Zoo by not entitling their rightful powers by the state government, said a press note released by W Santa Meitei, Secy Publicity of Federation of Regional Indigenous Societies (FREINDS).
The Autonomous District Council election was banned mainly by United Naga Council and moreover the NSCN-IM had triggered bomb blast in public places causing injury to many people, said a release of the FREINDS.
The NSCN-IM and UNC wanted that even if the councillors were elected they should not be given power, the release added.
Santa Meitei further added that the cadres of NSCN-IM have been collecting money which is being sanctioned for development of hill areas by sitting in the DC office openly. It can be said that the state government is under the control of NSCN-IM. The government should entitle the councillors their powers immediately.
