IMPHAL, Dec 26: The Senior Citizen Association has appealed to the UNC not to continue with their call for a 72 hour general strike in the four hill districts for the sake of continuing with the strike being called in the valley districts. Reiterating that the disturbances in the staee were in in no way directed against one partucular community or ethnic group, a press release from the Association has pointed out that just as tribal people suffered on account of the general strike, valley people too suffered losses during the strike, including physical injuries and damages to vehicles.
