GUWAHATI, December 10: The trial against 18 accused proscribed UNLF cadres including the outfit’s chairman RK Meghen alias Sanayaima under the NIA special case no 1 of 2010 began today at NIA Special Court, Guwahati.
Two prosecution witnesses namely Mahesh Chandra Das and Md Mukshed Dewan were examined as prosecution witness no 1 and 2.
Speaking to media persons, the chairman of UNLF, RK Meghen said, referring to the publication of recent abusing and passing lewd and racist comments to a Manipuri theatre girl in Bangalore shows incorrigible racism attitude of mainland India against Mongoloid faces of Western South East Asia (WSEA).
He further said that the security forces in Manipur have racism attitude while dealing with the people of Manipur and said in the RIMS massacre, the security force involved sorted out people with mainland Indian looks and gunned down all the others indiscriminately.
RK Meghen elaborated that the anti terrorism operations in North Eastern India are carried out with the attitude of racism.
He said that the current conflict situation rising up amongst the different ethnic groups of Manipur is a deep rooted conspiracy of the Indian government and said the people of all different communities should understand and stand united beyond the regime of GOI’s ploy of divide and rule.
The proscribed outfit UNLF’s chairman also said that presently Manipur is in a serious state where different communities are demanding for their separate lands within Manipur.
He further elaborated that the meitei community is fighting for the integrity of the state.
The only solution against such long ploy of the Indian government is to stand united for sustainable growth and development of the area, he said.
Senior advocate DK Das appeared on behalf of the prosecution and Advocate S Lakhikanta Singh, Advocate H Chandrajit Sharma and Gunedhor Moirangthem appeared on behalf of the accused persons.
The accused persons will further be produced before the NIA Special Court on December 24 while four prosecution evidence will be examined on January 8, 2013.
