IMPHAL, December 26: The Ukhrul District Journalist Association (UDJA) has expressed heartfelt condolence over the tragic death of TV journalist Th Dwijamani alias Nanao in police firing on December 23.
A statement of its secretary, Pamreiso Shimray said, “In our hearts we deeply share the sorrow and pray the Almighty God to give strength to the bereaved family. May his soul rest in peace.”
“The UDJA strongly condemned the action of the state police and demanded that the guilty should be punished according to the law”.
It continued that the state government must reaffirm its commitment to respect and protect the fourth pillar of democracy.
The state government must make all necessary arrangement to ensure the welfare of the bereaved family, it said.
