IMPHAL, December 18: A 10 year old girl sustained injuries after she was allegedly shot by her own uncle this morning around 7:40am at Thoubal Khekman Amakcham under Thoubal Police Station following a quarrel between her brother and the uncle.
The victim has been identified as Lilycha alias Sajina, 10, daughter of Md Yusub Ali of Thoubal Khekman Amakcham while her uncle has been identified as Md Anjob Ali, 55, son of (L) Abutab Ali.
Lilycha suffered multiple bullet injuries from the shooting.
She was rushed to RIMS with multiple bullet injuries on her buttock, right side belly and right arm.
Prior to the shooting incident, Lilycha’s brother identified as Fariz khan, 19, had a squabble with his uncle Anjob Ali, 55, at about 7 am at a local tea stall, after the two accidentally collided with each other.
Anjob while threatening Fariz that he can end his life with a single bullet caught hold of his throat following which an altercation followed between the two.
After a little push and pull Anjob went inside his house and came out with his double barrel rifle.
He started shooting with the rifle during which the bullets hit Lilycha instead of her brother.
It may be mention here that Lilycha’s other brother identified as Rashid Ali, 25, was also beaten up by Anjob using a spade handle some three months ago, which has left Rashid’s right arm paralyzed.
Meanwhile, according to the NNN, a team of Thoubal police station hurried to the site and reviewed the situation there. A case has been registered with the police station regarding the shooting incident.
