IMPHAL, December 21: The valedictory function of a five days training programme on Human rights during December 17 to 21 organized by Centre for Human Rights and Duties Education, Manipur University was held at the Lecture hall, Manipur University today.
The function was attended by Prof H Nandakumar Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, MU, Dr M Sureshkumar Singh, coordinator, CHRDE, MU, Prof N Lokendra Singh, Registrar, MU, and L Kailun Kom, IPS, IGP, Law & Order-1, Government of Manipur as chief guest, president, and guests of honour respectively.
Addressing the function as chief guest, Prof H Nandakumar said that education played an important role in ensuring that people enjoy rights in a proper way. He also stressed that human rights class should be provided during the police training programme.
