Abandoned woman seeks help

IMPHAL, January 17: Addressing a press conference at the FRIENDS office at Keishampat today, a 31 year old local woman of Kongba Kshetri Leikai has charged her husband of mentally and physically harassing her for over 10 years. Her three children were handed to her at first but after 3-4 days of staying at her parental home, her husband took them away with him she maintained, adding that when she went to his house to meet them, she was told that they had been sent to Dimapur.
Adding that she had received divorce papers in June last, Rojina alleged that her husband has absconded, leaving all his belongings and added that she suspects her sister-in-law to be living with him since she is yet to return after she left in March. Rojina further appealed for help in getting justice and for giving befitting punishment to her husband according to law.
