IMPHAL, January 28: The Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam today released a book titled “Manipur at the crossroad! Is there a way out” dedicated to former state Chief Ministers Mairengbam Koireng Singh, Mohammad Alimuddin and Yangmasho Shaiza and other forgotten heroes of Manipur. The release function was held at Manipur Press Club and hosted by Singhat MLA, Ginsuanhau Zou.
Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam in his address as the chief guest said books are still important in today’s information technologically advanced world and added that both books and advanced technology should go hand in hand.
Speaking on the book released today, the Dy Chief Minister said it talks about the thoughts of the people of both the hill and the valley. He continued people should be able to confine certain truths which could hurt others inside themselves and try to live in a conducive society with unity and peace.
Making a note about Mairengbam Koireng Singh, Mohammad Alimuddin and Tangmasho Shaiza, Gaikhangnam lauded the three leaders and said that they not only thought a lot for the people, but also worked for their welfare.
While saying that the state is a unique place where there is no discrimination, he called upon the people saying “We are all Manipuris and we should put efforts to take Manipur towards development”.
