Further remand for Kangla accused

IMPHAL, January 10: 4 of the 5 main accused including two IRB personels posted at Kangla, involved in the  kidnapping and killing of Manglam plywood factory manager, Shankar Lal on 3rd January was today produced before the chief judicial magistrate Imphal west (cheirap court) and remanded for a further five days in police custody till 14 January.

The accused who have been remanded for five days are Yumnam Dinesh (32), 1st IRB personal riflemen number 112005777, son of Y Angou of Waheng Khuman Maning Leikai and Laishram Herojit (34) riflemen number 2001247, son of L Ibotombi of Lamshang Laingamkhul;  Hanjabam  Dipu @ Punananda (27) son of (L) H Kumar of Bhramapur Thangapat Mapal;  Oinam Govind, son of Angou of Waheng Khuman Mayai Leikai and an Ex UG of KCP Sunil group.

It may be mentioned that Shankar Lal Swami (59) son of Jeebanlal Swami of Badhal district in Jaipur but staying in thangal bazaar was kidnapped by the 5 main accused on 2nd January early morning around 5 am from inside the Kangla premises near the western gate while he was taking his morning walk at gun point. The next day, his lifeless body was recovered from a fish farm located at Wahengkhuman, leading to the arrest of three people including the IRB personnell by the Imphal West police
