IMPHAL, Jan 24: The state level Gaan-Ngai 2013 Celebration Committee, under the aegis of the Zeliangrong Union (AMN) has appealed to all concerned not to call any bandh/strike of any kind on January 25 in view of the Gaan Ngai Festival and enable the eople and all well wishers to celebrate the festival in a grand and befitting manner.
A press release of the committee has further urged all Zeliangrong people to come in their traditional attire in keeping with the solemnity of the occasion.
Meanwhile, in separate press releases, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee United Committee Manipur and All Manipur Ethnical Socio-Cultural Organisation has also wished the people of the state especially the Zeliangrong communities on the occasion of Gaan Ngai.
It has further said that this year’s exchange of gifts for Gaan Ngai will be held at Major Khul, Imphal on January 27.
