JIRIBAM, January 23: A bomb expert team of Jiribam police, commandos and 22 Assam Rifles today exploded the two hand grenades which were found yesterday at residence of Th Ketuki Devi, ZEO Jiribam at Jiribam Babupara, Ward No 5. The two grenades were exploded safely around 11.30 am today.
Jiribam OC L Khogen Singh said the two grenades were exploded today since it was late to do the same yesterday. He said investigation is on to find out who was behind the grenade attack. An FIR has also been filed on the incident.
Meanwhile, several Jiribam based organizations including Alll Jiribam United Clubs Association, AJUCA; Jiri Development Organisation, JDO; All Jiribam Meira Paibee, AJMP; Jiri Ima Meira Paibee Apunba Lup, JIMPAL and WACAK released a joint press release condemning the grenade attack in the sternest form and further appealed to all concerned not to repeat such incidents in the future.
