IMPHAL, Jan 31 (NNN): Manipur Students’ Federation (MSF) has accused the headmaster of Rahmania High School located at Khetrigao in Imphal West of mishandling of funds and other facilities provided by the Government to this school and announced that the federation’s academic campaign “Eikhoi Lairik Ningthina Tamsi” (let us study well) would be launched soon for the academic session 2013-14 covering up to college level.
The case came to light during a drive carried out as part of the academic campaign, MSF vice president Khullakpam Serajuddin told the media at the former’s office here on Thursday.
Serajuddin further alleged that Shamshir Ali, head master of Rahmania High School roguishly submitted a latest report to the Government that the Government added High School had 119 students though it had been learnt that not a single student was attending it.
He said, “The school has 15 teaching staff and five out of them is approved staff and the remaining is two non-teaching staff and two cooks.”
The MSF vice president also alleged that it had been discovered that the entire fund and other facilities provided by the Government to the school were being misused by the headmaster for the last about three years.
Furthermore, Shamshir Ali had submitted report last year to the concerned Government authority that the school had 20 students, but no student was found learning there, Serajuddin said.
Serajuddin alleged in that case it appeared that the Assistant Inspector, Deputy Inspector and Zonal Educational Officer of the state Education Department were active in corruption in cahoots with the Headmaster.
He urged the state Government to look into the matter and take prompt action against the Headmaster and demanded for annulment of his salary.
MSF would soon start its academic campaign for the year 2013-14 during which drive would be carried out in all the schools and colleges starting from primary level, he announced.
