IMPHAL, January 30: Minister of health and family welfare Phungzathang Tonsing erected a memorial stone of the present village chief PA Suang Di Auansing and his wife Suangdawn Honna of the B kaljong village under Sagaikot sub division Singhat Assemble constituency in Churachandpur district in function held at PA suang do lien.
The memorial stone function was attended by the Health and Family Welfare Minister Phunzathang Tonsing as chief guest and 60 AC Singhat MLA Ginsuanhau as the guest of honour. The function was also attended by the Churanchanpur district ADC members and 15 kuki village chief of the neighbouring B Kaljong village.
Speaking at the function, Phungzathang Tongsing said that the memorial stone is for one of the most remarkable people of the block who have done many welfare work for people besides being a regular worshiper in the church.
He further said that during his time as a power minister of the state, he had developed more than 11 electric substations in the state and the sub- station which are build at the Sangaikot is among one of them with the capacity of 11.31 KV. He assured the locals that as soon as the sub centre is finished, the people of the area are going to have the facility of having proper power supply in the area.
Local MLA of Singhat Assembly constituency, Ginsuanhau said that the people living by the road side of the 26 Kilometre long Churachandpur to Sugnu road is been facing the problem of bad road condition and also the lack of medical facility in the block.
The MLA further appealed to the health minister to set up a Primary health sub centre or Primary health centre in the Block at Sangaikot in the interest of the people who lack proper medical treatment in the block as they have to go to the far place off Churachandpur CHC or to the hospital in imphal for getting treatment.
He further said that he had approached to the state minister and the works minister for the development of the 26 kilometre long Churanchandpur Sugnu road. He expressed the hope that the work programme for the better road condition will be approved by the state chief minister and the concern minister in the next year plan and the work for the better road condition will be done in a short period of time he said
He also assured the local that community hall will be building at the area in the short period of time and also assured to give the furniture of the LP Aided School in the area
