Manipuri Diaspora association observes foundation day

IMPHAL, January 7: Manipuri Diaspora Association, Delhi, a secular and non-profit organization of Manipuris settled in Delhi and its surrounding areas celebrated its foundation day on Sunday in a grand fashion at Dwarka, Delhi, said a release of the association.

Thanga a/c MLA and MPCC vice president, Sh Mangibabu attended the occasion as the chief guest and RK Falguni, IAS, ex-secretary of DoNER as guest of honour.              

Speaking on the occasion, Sh Mangibabu expressed his happiness regarding the efforts made by Manipuri Diaspora Association, Delhi to bring social harmony and bond of love and unity among the various communities residing in the National Capital, the release said.

Sh Falguni, in his speech, opined that the need of the hour is to have a shelter for all common people coming from the region for various purposes as the existing Manipuri Bhawan cannot accommodate all, it said.

The function ended with a grand lunch in Manipuri cuisine, it added.
