MOREH, Jan 21: The All Moreh Auto Rickshaw Organization (AMAO) and the Driver`s Welfare Association (DWA) Moreh has in a joint release sought for support from Government agencies and various civil society groups and leaders of the state over an alleged monetary demand of Rs 500 per auto rickshaw plying in and around Moreh by the KYKL.

Saying that all efforts of negotiation with the group regarding the inability to give in to the monetary demand had only led to dire threats with a deadline for January 22, the joint release worded in the form of a formal letter addressed to the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Moreh has also appealed to various civil society groups, community leaders and others to help bring a peaceful resolution to the issue given the inability of the auto drivers to be able to part with the monetary demands being made on them.

The two agencies, AMAO and DWA have also stated that auto service in and around Moreh will now been suspended from January 22 and that it would be followed by an indefinite bandh starting from January 23 onwards.
