NEROCA takes home CC Meet 2012 trophy

By Jinendra Maibam IMPHAL, January 18: NEROCA of Sangakpham lifted champion trophy after defeating Assam Regimental Center, Shillong by 3-1 goals (Tie-break) in the final match of the 56th edition of All India Sir Churachand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial football Tournament 2012 organized by All Manipur Football association held at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium Today.
During the crucial final match, Th Roshan Singh of NEROCA attempted to score in the 23rd minute of the play but his shot was brilliantly saved by the goalkeeper of ARC, Hauggolal. Both teams could not open their goal accounts in the first half.
After play started in the second half, Kangjamba Singh, defender of ARC took a free kick in the 53rd minute near the centre line but Mutum Raj, goalkeeper of NEROCA saved it from converting into a goal.
Centre referee I Rabichandra awarded one yellow card to Assam Regimental Center captain Amarjit in the 43 minute of the play.
NEROCA beat Assam Regimental Center, Shillong by 3-1 goals in tie-break.

Th. Roshan, K Rocky and Maibam Tyson scored for NEROCA while ARC’s Rakesh Singh scored the lone goal for ARC.  The prize distribution function was attended by Speaker Th. Lokeshor as Chief Guest, MOA President Bijoy Koijam and MLA Khumukcham Joykisan Singh as Guest of honor and A. Santoshkumar President of AMFA as functional president.
Various awards and trophies were handed out after the match. The Footballer of the year trophy for men with a cash award of Rs 15,000/- in honor of Late E. Ibohal  Singh, the 1st International Referee of the state and also the Hony Secy. of AMFA with the trophy arranged by AMFA and the Cash award donated by the family of Shri Ibohal Singh was bagged by Mutum Raj of NEROCA.
The Footballer of the year trophy for women with a cash prize of Rs 5000/- donated by Late Khumukcham Ongbi Leonlee Devi Memorial Trust, Thangmeiband in the name of Late Huidrom Arunkumari Devi was awarded to I. Prameshwori Devi of ESU.
The 56th C.C. Meet, 2012  fair play trophy with a cash award of Rs 5000/- donated by Smt Ngangom ongbi  Subadani Devi of Thangmeiband in the name of her late husband Major Ng. Joydutta, Vir Chakra went to  Zomi Football Club, Churachandpur.
The best goal keeper trophy for the CC Meet 2012 with a cash award of Rs. 5,000/- donated by A. Gourashyam Singh of Kongba Kshetri Leikai in the name of his late son, A. Palendra Singh was given to Hauggolal of ARC who also bagged the Best Player triphy with a cash award of Rs 4000/- donated by Smt Akoijam Ongbi Manglembi Devi of Keishamthong in the name of her late son Byron Angomcha.
The top scorer trophy of the tournament with Rs 5000 in cash donated by Smt Nandeibam Ongbi Devi of Thangmeiband in the name of her late husband Nandeibam Chitra Singh went to Th. Premkumar Singh of TRAU who scored 5(five) goals.
Man of the match award and Rs 5000/- donated by  Shri Atom Manao Singh of Kyamgei Awang Leikai in the name of his late son, Atom Surjit Singh @ Bongcha was given to Mutum Raj of NEROCA.
The Oja Kamini Kumar Memorial Trophy for coach of the year with Rs 5000/- in cash donated by Waribam ongbi Memcha Devi of Lairikyengbam Leikai in the name of her late husband Oja Kaminikumar, the renowned footballer and Football Coach was awarded to Tayenjam Ibomcha Singh of NEROCA.
L.Chandramani Singh of TRAU was awarded the Best defender trophy with Rs 5000 in cash donated by Konsam  Tarubi Devi and her family of Laipham Khunou in the name of late Konsam Achouba Singh while Naorem Sushil of NEROCA got the trophy with Rs 10,000/- for the Best mid-fielder of the final match donated by Th.Krishanatombi Singh, DSP(CDO), Manipur Police in the name of his late father, Th. Birachandra Singh, the Founder of Th. Birachandra Singh Football Academy, Tabungkhok.
The Oja Benudhar Memorial trophy for the best referee of the tournament with Rs 5000/- in cash donated by the family members of Chongtham Benudhar Singh, of Keishamthong, who was a renowned footballer and a referee earlier went to Sh Suresh Singh State Class-I, CAT-3. Th. Roshan of NEROCA was awarded the best striker of the final match and received Rs 5000/-donated by Akoijam Ibomcha Singh of Mongsangei and also the Proprietor of M/S, Border Arms, Imphal.
Assam Regimental Center, Shillong was handed the Runner’s up trophy and a cash prize of Rs 50, 000/-while NEROCA walked away with the Champion’s Trophy and a cash award of Rs. 1,00,000/-
