Non-Christians from Zhavame express their support for Z Lohe

KOHIMA, Jan 24 (NEPS): In a major setback to the sitting NPF MLA Deo Nukhu of 17 Chizami Assembly Constituency, non-Christian people in his own Zhavame (Zhamai) village have voluntarily come out to support former Assembly Speaker, Z Lohe, who is also strongly pitted to get NPF ticket for the ensuing Nagaland assembly elections slated for February 23 next.

Interacting with the North East Press Service here Friday, the leaders of the non-Christian group in the Zhavame village, who came all the way from their village (Zhavame) to express their support to Lohe’s candidature in the 17 Chizami Assembly constituency in the ensuing assembly elections, said they had “faith and confidence” in Lohe that he would be able to fulfill their desire and aspiration” if he (Lohe) is elected.” They said there are 22 non-Christian households there in their village, said Salonyi Ayi, Chairman, non-Christian Group, Zhavame Village. The other office bearers who accompany the Chairman are Rapri Rhi, Chasu Rhi, Zhonyo Shupao, Rhokho Krocha, Zhowpi Krocha, Vikho Movi, Danyi Pohena and Danyi Dukru.

Meanwhile, when contacted to get his reaction, the former Assembly Speaker Z Lohe confirmed the voluntary support to him expressed by the members of the non-Christian group from the Zhavame village.
Welcoming the decesion of the non-Christian people from Zhavame village to his candidature, Lohe declosed that they had come to expresse their support to his candidaute on their own “volition.”
“Although I could not visit their village till now, I thank God that they have taken such a decsion on their own volition in support of my candidature,” Lohe said. “It is a great encouragement and I wellcome them.”
