IMPHAL, January 21: A PIB press release has said that Haosungbam Surchandra alias Naoba who had been an active cadre of PREPAK had surrendered willingly to the Army on September 14, 2012. “Having surrendered, his documents have been sent by the Army to the state CID, as is the norm, for verification. Surchandra had been issued as identification card by the Army for a period of four months which is the time usually taken by state CID authorities to verify the antecedents of any surrenderee”, it said.
“Army has neither been involved in the alleged activities of Surchandra or his mother nor aware of any individual named Tolen”, it said. The release alleged that the case is totally a result of personal feuds between various individuals and families of Khurai Chingambam Leikai.
