IMPHAL, January 13: A team of CDO Imphal East arrested an active member of KYKL today at 6:13 am from Kongpal Chingangbam Leikai near the Netaji Memorial Club, said a police release.
According to the release, the arrested person has been identified as a self style lance corporal, Khongbantabam Sanajaoba Singh alias Bungo alias Puremba (27), son of Kh Inaotombi Singh of Kongpal Chingangbam Leikai.
On verification he stated that he had joined the said organization in the year 2007 under one BK of Pourabi of KYKL and had trained in the same year at Tanan in Myanmar under army number 634, the release said.
On further verification he stated that he was involved in transporting of arms and ammunition from one place to another, it said.
Further, a team of CDO Imphal East arrested an active member of KCP (MC) today at 10:45 am from Langthabal Kunja Mamang Leikai near the petrol pump, the release continued.
The arrested person has been identified as Ningthoukhongjam Sushil Singh alias Ishingchaoba alias Imo (32), son of N Damu Singh of Langthabal Kunja Mamang Leikai, the release said.
On verification, he disclosed that that he had joined the said organization in the year 2010 through one Boycha of Kakwa and recently on the advice of one Ngamba of KCP (MC), he visited Catholic School, Chanchipur regarding the reservation of the party’s seats at the time of admission, the release said.
Meanwhile, a combined team of CDO Thoubal, 27 Assam Rifles and 1/2/CT/IS-DT-ECCIU arrested a woman activist of KCP (Noyon) during a search operation at Kakching Lamkhai at around 4:30 pm, said a separate release of the police.
The arrested person has been identified as Moirangthem Ongbi Jamuna Devi (42), daughter of (L) M Munal Singh of Pallel Mamang Leikai.
One 9 mm pistol with two live rounds, one Chinese hand grenade and one mobile handset were recovered from her possession.
On questioning, she revealed that she is working under the command of one Sarangthem Rahul alias Boynao, son of S Bira Singh of Pallel Mayai Leikai for the KCP (Noyon).
