IMPHAL, January 3: Two persons were killed in separate road accidents yesterday evening in the state. In the first incident, an elderly person who was returning after tying his cattle was hit by a Bajaj Super at Hiyanglam Awang Leikai under Kakching PS around 3pm yesterday. The victim has been identified as Elangbam Ngouba, 63 of Hiyanglam Awang Leikai. He succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital. The dead body has been handed over to family members after post mortem was conducted at RIMS.
Meanwhile in another incident at Torbung under Moirang police station at around 4:30pm yesterday, a Tata Winger coming from Churachandpur side hit an Activa borne girl. The victim girl has been identified as Mairembam Naotombi, 19 daughter of M Naba of Moirang Mairembam Leikai. The girl succumbed to her injuries around 5:10 pm the same day at the Moirang CHC. Her dead body was handed over to family members after post mortem was conducted at the RIMS morgue.
