IMPHAL, Jan 17: A team of the Manipur State Commission for Women led by its chairperson Dr L Ibetombi Devi visited Maklang village in Imphal West district on January 16 as spot inquiry in connection with an alleged offence committed to a girl by an autorickshaw driver identified as Mayanglambam Premjit Singh, 22, of Kakching, said a release of the commission.
The team interacted with the parents of the girl and in this connection, a suo moto case is taken up against the said culprit, it said.
In the meantime it has also been decided to call status report from the concern police. It is also further decided to appeal to the autorickshaw association to arrange to prevent such incident in future by advising to all the drivers to help all the passengers in all time to come, it added.
