Kakhulong, Paona Bazar, Amu Kame, President ZNU said that it is very unfortunate that the state the Government has wrongly declared January 25 as Chakan Gan Ngai which instead falls on Jan 24 for this year. This traditional ritual ceremony date was decided for this year by conducting a meeting of 131 village members, he added. The president also appealed to the state Government to release a corrigendum for the same.
The president of the organization also regretted the baseless and unfounded news which was published in two local news papers in connection with NSCN-IM and elaborated by saying that the organization has no link with the NSCN-IM and no resolution/s has been passed in connection with the NSCN-IM.
Amu Kamei, a former advisor of AMSU during 1982-83 mentioned that during economic blockades, the Zeliangrong community suffers a lot as they mostly inhabit in valley area with the Meitei community.
