DESAM verifies school recognition, sends out warning

IMPHAL, February 13: The Democratic Students’ Alliance of Manipur, DESAM has asked all parents and guardians of students who are studying in schools which are yet to be recognized by the government to leave the schools immediately.

Speaking at a press conference at the DESAM head office today, Secretary General Arambam Tonthoi elaborated that certain schools have been found running without government recognition during a recent inspection by the student body.

She said, Class IX and X of Lamlai Bride Career Academy under the Board of Secondary Education were found not to be operating without proper recognition. “Other schools found without recognition during the inspection are Morning Colony School, Yaingangpokpi -Nursery to class X; Class IX and X of Asui Memorial School, Yaingangpokpi and Paramount Standard English School, Laikouching; Ideal Public School Mayang Lamjing- the school’s claim that Class I to VIII are recognized turned out to be a lie,” she said.

Meanwhile, Ram Krishna Higher Secondary, Ghari supposedly under the Central Board of Secondary for Class IX to XII is yet to be recognized, though the school claimed that it has got recognition during admission season, she said.

While, appealing to the parents and guardians to take out their wards from these schools, she further warned that the student body will be conducting another round of  inspection and if students are found in the above mentioned classes then, it will take up actions against the schools.
