IMPHAL, February 25: An accused who was arrested and taken into police custody on the charge that he molested a thirteen year old girl at a locality in Mayang Imphal under Mayang Imphal police station of Imphal West District on 19 February in the evening was remanded in judicial Custody by the court.
According to information received by IFP, the accused who has been remanded in judicial custody by the court has been identified as Asem Oken (40) son of A Ahanjao Singh. He had moved house from Mayang Imphal to Uripok Bachaspati Leikai.
Taking advantage of absence of the elders who were out to attend a marriage ceremony and allegedly molested the girl on the pretext of seeing whether the girl suffered from any disease.
He was taken into the custody of Mayang Imphal police in connection with the incident. Since the period of police custody was over, he was produced before the court of Yumkham Rother, Judicial Magistrate 1st class and remanded to judicial custody.
