KANGPOKPI, February 9: IFCD/Printing and Stationery Minister Ngamthang Haokip and 50-Kangpokpi AC MLA Nemcha Kipgen today said that MGNERGS in the state is as per the central govt. guidelines.
The Minister and MLA were speaking at the closing ceremony of the 1st Sadar Hills Veteran Meet 2013 at Sadar Hills Tujang Area. Ngamthang Haokip said that sports bring Peace and harmony.
Ngamthang Haokip also clarified the misunderstanding of MGNREGS fund allocation held by some village chiefs. He said that as per the central govt. guidelines 50% is allocated to the village authority while 25% each is allocated to line department and district council in hills district and panchayat in valley respectively.
This fund allocation is implemented in all districts of the state, added the Minister.
The central govt. guidelines of MGNREGS can be modified or changed by the state govt. as it wish. “But the state govt. cannot be blame for the fund allocation. It only implements the scheme and the fund allocation is as per the guidelines of the central govt” said the Minister.
Nemcha Kipgen, MLA 50-Kangpokpi AC also pointed out that the fund allocation of MGNREGS is not the state govt. guidelines. It is the central govt. guidelines that the state govt. is implementing in the state.
