IMPHAL, February 11: During a meeting with media persons at the office of Janata Dal (United) Manipur state located at Bapura, Imphal; Dr. M Nara, Convenor of the opposition political parties said that representatives of the local and national political parties will meet the Chief Minister to ask what the Prime Minister and the Home Minister had said about the arrest of Lt. Col. (NSCN-IM) Livingston Anal.
Dr. M Nara, Convenor, continued that all political party delegation which visited Delhi on January 17, 2013 with regard to the arrest of lt col. (NSCN-IM) Livingston Anal involved in the Decemeber Chandel incident and other relevant matters met concerned officials including Prime Minister Dr. Manmohon Singh and Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde apprising them of the matters in detail while adding that the delegation urged them to bring Livingston Anal to book.
“However, as there are no visibly remarkable actions taken up by either the government of India or the state government till date regarding the call made by the delegation, opposition political parties have suspicions and anxiety and they would ask what Prime Minister and Home Minister had said about their call and how far the matter about arrest of Livingston Anal has progressed or has been processed,” he added.
The meeting of opposition political party held today at the JD(U) office further adopted a resolution to entrust Convenor Dr. Nara with the matter to fix the date to meet CM O Ibobi in order to ask about their call.
As per the resolutions adopted during the meeting today , the opposition party demanded devolution of three tier power to the Panchayati Raj Institution for rural development, establishment of fast track court at the earliest in the state to deal with cases without delay relating to the accused involved in crime against women and making the state government call on the Nagaland government regarding the arrest and award of punishment to those involved in the incident of the driver N Govardhan who was found dead at Kohima on 6 february.
