IMPHAL, Feb 11: “On February 10, at about 2:15 pm, a team of CDO I/E under the supervision of M Rajen Singh, Addl SP (OPs), IE arrested two UPRA cadres namely L Henkhup Kom alias Joshua, 34 son of (L) L Mangler Kom of Makokching village, Saikul PS a/p Dewlahnd near Mao Church and Lunneihao Telien, 39 son of M Telien Kom of Makokching village, Saikul PS a/p Dewlahland from lKhurai Lamlong Bridge”, said a press release of the I/E SP.
It continued that one mobile phone (Nokia-N311 OC) along with one Airtel Sim card, three Nos. of demand letters of UPRA and one round seal of finance secy UPRA and one stamp pad were recovered from the possession of L. Henkhup Kom alias Joshua.
“On verification, they stated that they were active members of UPRA and had joined through one Sana of Pukhao Naharup in the month of December 2012 and they were involved in extortion of money from the general public, govt officials, private firms etc”, it concluded.
