IMPHAL, February 21: A combined team of the Imphal East police and the Delhi police have arrested a man at Delhi who is wanted by the state police in several cases of vehicle lifting, killing and use of illegal arms.
The man identified as Abbas Khan (31) son of Rajaur of Thoubal Moijing was arrested by the team from Sakupur J Block House No 562, Delhi West on February 14, informed the police.
The police source also said that he is wanted in several cases of vehicle lifting, murder and firing at the office of Anjuman at Lilong. He has been handed over to Lilong Police regarding the cases against him, the source informed.
It may be mentioned that Abbas Khan was earlier arrested by the state police some months back and was in the custody of the Lilong police but managed to flee from the custody of the police on December 22 last year while being taken to the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences, Porompat.
The next early morning after fleeing from the JNIMS hospital police custody, he shot dead a person identified as Abdul Halim of Lilong Haoreibi Turel Ahanbi under Lilong police station, said that police source.
