JIRIBAM, February 7: State Works Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar inaugurated the Jiribam ADC complex (Mini Secretariat Office) and Guest House at Chingdong Leikai, Jiribam today.
The ADC complex was constructed with a Special Plan Assistance funding of Rs 11.01 crores, while the Guest House was constructed with Rs 3 crore both under the 12th Finance Commission.
The separate inaugural functions held at 8am and 10am respectively were presided by Y Iboyaima Additional Deputy COmmissioner, Jiribam.
Speaking at the ADC inaugural function, chief guest Dr Ratankumar said that the state government had resolved under the direction of the Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh and local MLA Th Debendra Singh to complete construction of all needed infrastructure for effective state administration in all districts and all needed infrastructure in Jiribam sub-division in order to upgrade it to a district.
The ADC complex will have six department office-Settlement office, BDO, Employment Office, Sports office, Co-operative and ICDS office, he said before adding that the complex will also have a barrack and transit hostel.
Continuing that developmental works need co-operation from the general public, the Minister appealed to send in suggestions and complained to him if quality is not maintained in developmental works so that he can take up actions.
Meanwhile, before the inaugural function, the Minister also met with representatives of the Jiribam District Demand Committee, and assured not only all possible help regarding the MoU signed in 2011 between the government and the committee, but also to talk with the CM on the issue.
The Guest House inaugurated today has two blocks.Meanwhile, the Works Minister in an exclusive chat said, he is considering opening of a Transport Branch in Jiribam.
He not only inspected the J T road today but also assured that he will inspect the Imphal Jiribam Highway which is also one of the lifelines of the state tomorrow and see how the BRO is working, he said.
