NUNGBA/TAMENGLONG, February 26: Amidst stringent security measures taken up by the Indian security forces to prevent the celebration of the 2nd Foundation day of the under -ground Zaliangrong United Front (ZUF), the outfir observed its raising day on Monday at their Tactical head quarter successfully with fan fare.
Security forces including Assam Rifles and Indian Army on getting official information of the celebration of the 2nd Raising day of the outfit at Mukti village under the jurisdiction of the Nungba sub-division in Tamenglong district had foiled all arrangements and even dismantled all the decorations that were being put up for the event since Sunday night ahead of the celebration.
On the other hand, officials and cadres of the outfit shifted their eventual spot to a nearby village and celebrated their raising day by unfurling the ZUF flag by the commander-in-chief, Jainchui Kamei who attended as chief guest of the celebration.
The celebration was marked by paying of homage, with tributes given by the officials and cadres of the outfit to the departed soldiers of the organization by offering gun salutes at the parade ground today.
The observation of the outfit anniversary was enthralled by the performances of cultural items presented by the different communities of the Zeliangrong tribes which entertained the well wishers and inviteeswho attended the function.
The chief guest of the function, Commandar In chief of the outfit Jainchui Kamei read out the message endorse by its Chairman, Kamson extending appreciation to the public of the region for extending their support and co-operation to the existing revolutionary movement of the ZUF.
The message of the chairman further elaborated that, the co-operation and support given by the common public of the region will go on as long as the outfit continues to work towards realizing the will of the common public. It further sought constructive suggestions and feed backs from the common public of the region, to facilitate them in realizing their objectives.
The message further paid respect to all those martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice by laying down their lives at the altar of freedom and justice.
It is also further added that, the outfit have just completed two years on Monday and thanked the Almighty for guiding and blessing the organization despite of having so many stiff oppositions from their adversaries.
Saying that the ZUF was established with the sole aim to work for the genuine cause of the Zeliangrong peoples and other indigenous minority groups living in Zeliangrong territories, it also recalled that a big chunk of their ancestral land have been bartered away for the Dimasas in N.C Hill.
The message of the chairman further assured the general public of the region to overcome all crisis and to work whole heartedly to ensure the unity and integrity of the Zeliangrong People. It further added the outfit was commited to continue and complete the unfurnished task left behind by Haipou Jadonang and Rani Gaidinliu.
