IMPHAL, March 11: A meeting of the All Tribal Chiefs’ Forum (ATCF), Manipur was held today at Hotel Imphal conference hall against the state government’s failure to include representatives from ATCF to examine the Manipur (Hill Areas) District Councils Act, 1971 and the Manipur (Village Authorities in Hill Areas) Act 1956 and rules framed there under. The meeting has unanimously resolved to formed a committee to prepare the acts which will be suitable and acceptable to the Tribal Customary Laws and traditional practices, and the same would be submitted to the expert committee for government’s acceptance, said a release of the forum.
