IMPHAL, March 9: A combined team of 30 Assam Riffles, 40 Assam Riffles and Lilong police arrested one person along with drugs worth more than 30 lakhs and one country made pistol from Lilong area under Thoubal district today morning.
Speaking to the media, Hussain Officer in charge of Lilong police said that today early morning, the combined team had taken up a special drive in the Lilong area and arrested Md Wahidur Rahaman (30) son of Ziauddin of Lilong Kaleikhong Machin Thong Maya, along with the dug consignment and the country made pistol.
54, 280 SP strips, 4, 700 N-10 strips, one country made pistol and two mobile phone handsets were seized from Wahidur’s house, he said. Wahidur has now been arrested on the charge of smuggling and possession of the narcotic drugs. The seized drugs were being smuggled into Manipur from Guwahati, he added.
