Documentary film making workshop

    IMPHAL, Mar 7: The 2nd day of the 5 day workshop on documentary film making continued from yesterday at the Department of Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMRC), Manipur University.

    The workshop was conducted by Ashoke Viswanathan, an expert  who is also the former Head of Department of Film Direction at the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute and a visiting Professor at Film and Television Institute of India, Pune at the Department of Cinema and Theatre, Boston Tufts University, Jadavpur Iniversity Department of Film Studies and St Xavier’s College Kolkata Dept of Film Studies.

    Today the expert elaborated the session on ‘From concept to script: a detailed outline of the process’ to the participating students. The eminent filmmaker while conducting the workshop also showed his controversial film ‘Gumshuda’to the participants.

    He clustered his class in 2 groups of students to shoot a 5 minute duration documentary film each on ‘Noise Pollution’ and ‘Ema Keithel’, for which the equipment for the shooting like camera and cameraman are being provided by the EMRC department. The 5 day workshop on documentary film making will conclude on 10th March 2013.
